Alexander:

Nicknames: Alex, Little Dude, Little Man, Pumpkin, little buddy, Bubba

Weight: 18 pounds 12 ounces (40%)

Height:  27 1/4 inches (18%)

Head circumference:  17 1/2 inches (40%)

Diaper size: 2

Clothing size: 9 month but also easily fits a lot of 6 month stuff

Feeds: Target brand Gentlease.  He takes 8 ounces 3 times a day (7 AM, 3 PM, 700 PM). He gets baby foods or table foods three times a day (9 AM, Noon, and then at 530 PM when we eat dinner). He is starting to do more and more table foods! SO far he has had spaghetti and meatballs, tacos, monkey bread, waffles, banana chocolate chip bread, french fries, turkey, green beans, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole. The boy still has not met a food he doesn't like! He loves to eat! He does not like really slimy foods. His current favorite is puffs and spaghetti and meatballs. We are working on introducing sippy cups. He has figured out how to drink from it while you hold it, but is working on holding it himself.

Sleep: He goes to bed at 7 after having a diaper change, bottle, and listening to lullabies. Dad wakes him during the week at 5:45 for a bottle. After this bottle he goes back to bed until mom wakes at 7:45 for Daycare OR if its a weekend he wakes around 9 AM on his own. He is a good sleeper and will sleep by himself in the crib. He LOVES to snuggle a fuzzy blanket. He loves to nap on this fuzzy gray blanket we have on the couch. He takes 3 cat naps a day (about 30 minutes each ) at daycare. At home he takes a 30 minute nap in the morning and a 2 hour nap after lunch. MUST have pacifier to nap! He likes to sleep with his Lovie and sleeps so much better with it. He is a snuggler and will also happily nap on you given the chance

Health: Sinus infection treated with antibiotics. Stomach bug at beginning of the month. Cold at the end of the month.....oh winter illnesses what fun you are!

Behavior: Such a smiley giggly boy! He is usually pretty mellow. He is one to crawl right into your lap and give you a hug or want to snuggle you. Only upset when he is tired or hungry. He is starting to really explore things. He loves to squeal to hear his voice, then pause then do it again. He just lights up when the dog comes in the room. He gets the BIGGEST smile on his face when mom or dad gets home and can't wait to get over to them and get picked up. Loves to crawl into your lap for snuggles.

Play : New fascination is the ball pit! He likes to kick his feet around in it and eat the balls. He also enjoys jumping in his jumper still. Likes to stand around the activity table to play. Loves blocks, likes to bang them into each other. Enjoys crawling everywhere and pulling to stand on anything he can. Likes dancing with mom and dad. He loves touch and feel books

Development:
Crawling. Babbling. Pulling to stand. Grabbing at foods to feed himself. Can hold an object in each hand. Can pick up larger ball with two hands.

Kylie:

Nicknames: Kylie Bear, Lil Diva, Princess, Lovebug, Pumpkin

Weight: 15 pounds 10 ounces (14%)

Height:  26 1/2 inches (19%)

Head circumference:  17 inches (38%)

Diaper size: 2

Clothing size: 6 month

Feeds: Target brand Gentlease. She is offered 8 ounces 3 times a day (7 AM, 3 PM, 7 PM). She gets baby foods and/or table foods three times a day (9 AM, Noon, and 530 PM when we eat). She usually can eat a whole container of baby food. She is LOVING feeding herself.  So far she has had spaghetti and meatballs, tacos, monkey bread, waffles, banana chocolate chip bread, french fries, turkey, green beans, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole.  Her favorite is puffs and spaghetti and meatballs. When she is full she starts to whine until you clean her up....although if she is full and you offer puffs she won't say no. The girl knows what she likes! If she really likes it she opens huge and says "Ahhhh" and moves her head into the spoon then bites like crazy at the spoon. If she loves the table food she will shove it in by the fistful!

Sleep: She goes to bed at 7:00 after having a diaper change, bottle, and listening to lullabies. Mom wakes her during the week at 6:45 for a bottle. After this bottle she might go back to bed until mom wakes at 7:45 for Daycare (but most days she is so excited to see Mom she just stays up and watches mom get ready). If its a weekend she usually sleeps til 7 and then wants to be up for the day. She is a good sleeper and will sleep by herself in the crib. She is taking about 3, 30 minute naps at daycare and if she is home she will sleep 2 hours in the afternoon. If she is over tired and throwing a tantrum she only goes to sleep if you cradle her and sway her back and forth. She likes to sleep with her Lovie. Prefers to be cradled into you rather then chest to chest.

Health: Ear infection at the beginning of the month and stomach bug. Getting over a cold now.

Behavior: Kylie is such a smiley girl. She likes to smile and then turn away like she is shy. Her nose wrinkles when she smiles. She is very curious and tries to crawl everywhere to explore everything. She is very active and constantly on the go. Shes very talkative. Very independent, shes 9 months going on 13 in her mind. Likes to crawl into your lap and have you pick her up, occasionally for a snuggle but usually because she wants you to make her jump. She really focuses on something if it is new to her. She gets so excited when mom or dad get home and crawls really fast to be the first one to greet them and say hi! She is still our sassy little diva!

Play : Kylie loves to jump in her jumper, she will jump in her jumper for over 30 minutes at a time and just giggles like crazy as she does it. She loves playing on the activity tables. Loves the ball pit.  She likes to look in the mirror.  Loves having dance parties with mom and dad!  She loves toys that light up. Loves books. Kylie loves balls and blocks but doesn't do more then eat them! She is starting to learn to take things from her brother and finds it funny to steal his pacifier.

Development: She crawls everywhere on all fours. Melts my heart when she crawls over into my lap. Pulling to stand a ton. Babbling.  Getting into everything! Starting to think she can walk if holding furniture (she can't, it results in falling. Every. Single. Time).

Oh where will the next month take us?! I see even more baby-proofing and the start of holiday traditions in our future!! I can't wait :)

First Halloween!

Ed and I loooooove Halloween! So naturally we are hoping the kids pick up on this. I figure in a few years they probably won't want to dress up to match so I'm taking full advantage while they can't talk! The hardest part was finding something that worked for both kids AND had something that would work for the dog (yes I'm that person!) eventually we settled on Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, and Captain Hook! The kids got decent use out of the costumes. The weekend before we took the kids and Mav to Stone Mountain Pet Lodge (Mav's kennel and daycare) for their annual party. The kids Aunt Lesley, Uncle Nate, and their dog Rocky also came! It was fun to watch the dogs be in costume (the kids were mesmerized by it!) and have some snacks.

The day before Halloween I sent the kids to school in costumes. I didn't want to risk them getting sick on their costume and having to wash it the night before so we sent them in back up costumes. Introducing Rapunzel:

And Top Gun Pilot:

The costumes were big hits at school :) On Halloween the kids started the day playing and having waffles for breakfast.

Then we went to do their 9 month pictures (will post on that when I get them back, but I will say they are going to be CUUUUTE!). Then it was an afternoon at home with mom in our Halloween outfits.

After dinner and some pictures:
Such a cute smile behind that hand

We got ready for Halloween.

The kids went trick or treating at one neighbors house. It was cold so thats really all we needed :) The neighbors loved the kids outfits and were so happy we stopped by. If only Mav knew we were at the house that gives him treats each day! After that we went home and handed out candy. Kylie wasn't feeling so great so Ed put her to bed while Alex helped me. He just LOVED seeing all the costumes, he wasn't scared by one. He was also very interested in the candy bowl :)

It was a great Halloween. I can't wait for next year....better start planning costumes now ;)
