31 Weeks

Well had this post written since we were 31 weeks (Monday) but haven't felt great so didn't get around to a picture until tonight....so pictures are 31 weeks and 3 days...but the rest of the post is what I wrote Monday (hence why it all seems before Christmas!!) So here are your 31 week and 3 day pics:

Kisses for his new siblings

There may have been peanut butter involved to make him kiss his siblings ;)

And now the post I wrote on Monday when we were 31 weeks and 0 days:
Merry Christmas!!!! Its our last "quiet" Christmas....next year we will be chasing babies around!!! It will be crazy the changes a year will bring.

Weeks along: 31 weeks

Trimester: THIRD!

Frequency of OB appointments: Weekly. And now each one includes ultrasound and stress test for the baby plus a check up

How I'm feeling: Still really dizzy and tired. Little short of breath. Back pain (but def improved thanks to the maternity belt, seriously want to hug the inventor of this magical device!). Finding I get worn out easier and easier with things that used to not phase me (cleaning, laundry, cooking, even shopping!)

Total Weight Gain:  26 pounds

Babies are the size of: a head of lettuce

Movement: Still moving a lot, if you stare at my stomach you can see it moving in all different directions thanks to the twins. Not creepy at all ;)

Cravings: None (How have I made it all pregnancy with like 0 cravings and 0 middle of the night fast food runs!)

Sleep: Still sleeping without the need for extra pillows

Wedding ring: On

Stretch marks: Nada!!

Belly button: Innie! *But its a tight innie!!

Bedrest/Restrictions: Only allowed to work 4 days a week and have to take it easy on weekends. Ed has restricted me from Mavericks walks now that there is snow/ice on the ground, sad :( I love going on Mav's walks!

What I miss: This week the ability to travel as we were not able to go home for the holidays. Luckily we have amazing family and they have come to us over the past 2 weekends.

Best part of the week:  At our doctors appointment this week Eviction Day was set!! If they do not come before, we have our C-section scheduled for 9:30 AM February 10!! Which is exactly SEVEN weeks from today. Its getting so close! I'm hoping they cook till at least 34 weeks (Doctor said if we make it that long they won't try to stop labor). I just have this feeling though (and daddy does too) that the twins will hold out on us until the 10th!

New Baby Gear:  Tons of new clothes for the babies. They each got an Adidas track suit! Purple for her and Black for him, so stinkin cute. Also got some new books including the classic How the Grinch stole Christmas! I bought our bath tub mat.

What I'm looking forward to this week: Christmas! This will be the first Christmas where its just me and the hubby! (And our only chance at this for a long time!!). Will be nice to have a quiet Christmas but we will miss our family! Also excited we are going to get our baby books this week and hang the artwork in the nursery (which will make the nursery 100% done!!!).

Whats left to do before twins come: Pick names, Get baby books, Hang nursery artwork, pack hospital bags, get a plan together for Mav in case babies come before the 10th. Start the search for the Nanny. Pamper myself ;) Enjoy the last few nights of sleeping through the night! Spoil Maverick rotten!!

Can't believe it is getting so close! 7 weeks.....49 days......or maybe even less if they want to surprise mom and dad! We are ready! Its been 3 long years getting to this point! Super excited :)

30 Weeks

We made it to the 30s!!! At this point every week we tick off is just one less week in the NICU. I feel like if we hit 35 weeks the babies are home free! So just keep growing babies...just keep growing! :)

Lol Love Mav's squinty eyes

Weeks along: 30

Trimester: THIRD!

Frequency of OB appointments: Every 2 weeks

How I'm feeling: Starting to have Braxton Hicks contractions so ya know that's a blast :) Lots of back pain and very tired. Little short of breath with too much activity. Also finding I can't be on my feet to long without something hurting. Goodness it will be a long 8 weeks as I get larger!

Total Weight Gain:  Didn't get a weight this week yet, will do at doctors appointment

Movement: Still moving a lot, their movements are getting stronger when they occur

Cravings: Nothing in particular

Sleep: Sleeping pretty good, only waking once or twice to use the bathroom and usually fall right back asleep. Needing a good 10+ hours a night though

Wedding ring: On

Stretch marks: Nada!!

Belly button: Innie! *But its a tight innie!!

Bedrest/Restrictions: Only allowed to work 4 days a week and have to take it easy on weekends.

What I miss: Going 24 hours without something hurting!

Best part of the week: Passed the glucose tolerance test, so relieved not to have gestational diabetes. Also got to celebrate Christmas with family, we got some GREAT new things and the twins made out really good too!

New Baby Gear:   All of this weeks gear was Christmas presents from Ed's side of the family. I got a tea set for me and little miss. Ed got legos for him and our little mister! Can't wait to play with these with the munchkins. Also got some cute clothes and new books! We got some great interactive toys too. These babies are soooo Spoiled I mean loved :)

What I'm looking forward to this week: Christmas #2 with my parents. Our OB appointment to check on the babies progress. My maternity belt arriving....I am officially sacrificing style for comfort...anything to hopefully make the back pain less!

Things we still need to do for babies: Get baby books, hang the last pieces of artwork in the nursery, pack our hospital bag. Oh and choose baby names, no big deal :) On the bright side if the babies came tomorrow we'd survive, we have all the necessities and then some! All the changing stations are loaded on each floor, all bedding clothes and blankets are washed, carseats are ready to be loaded, cribs are up and ready.

Can't believe we've made it this far. Getting so excited to meet our twinkies!! :)

29 weeks

Another week down....another week less in a NICU if the twins were to come tomorrow :) The further we get in, the more I feel like they will make it to 38 weeks and need to be induced/scheduled c-section. If that be the case....eviction date is set for Feb 10 2014! Which is 2 months and 1 day from today!!! Luckily the holidays are here to keep us distracted while we "patiently" wait :)

someone was to tired to even sit up for pictures today. He says its hard being a model in maternity pics haha

Weeks along: 29 weeks (but my belly is measuring the size of someone pregnant with one baby at 32/33 weeks....eek!)

Trimester: THIRD!

Frequency of OB appointments: Every 2 weeks

How I'm feeling: Going on week 2 of a cold sooooo thats fun. Also getting a lot of lower back pain and still really tired. Working one day less a week has helped the fatigue a little though

Total Weight Gain:  25 pounds, holy smokes! Luckily it is def all baby....at least at this point

Babies are the size of: a small cabbage. At their ultrasound on 12/6/13, he weighs roughly 3# and she is roughly 2#12 oz....weights could be as much as 8 oz too much but even with that, those are some solid sized babies for twins!!! My poor achey back :)

Movement: Still moving a lot, their movements are getting stronger when they occur

Cravings: Fruit....pineapples, peaches, banana, oranges. Love it all this week

Sleep: Still sleeping without the need for extra pillows (thankful we have such an amazingly comfortable bed)

Wedding ring: On

Stretch marks: Nada!! Even the doctor was impressed this week that I still have none

Belly button: Innie! *But its a tight innie!!

Bedrest/Restrictions: Only allowed to work 4 days a week and have to take it easy on weekends.

What I miss: Wearing heels....I put on cute heel boots for maternity pics, wore them for maybe 35 minutes total....my feet are killing me today from it....but anything for cute pics right? ;)

Best part of the week:  Taking maternity pictures!! We had a great photographer and I can not wait to see the photos when they are ready. She even let Mav come to her studio, and I have to say, I was so impressed at how well he listened to us and his Aunt Lesley to cooperate for the pics. I think the ones with him are going to be fantastic! It was maybe 10 degrees out and snowing that day so we did not take everything outside like I wanted, but we did venture out for about 5 minutes for a few outdoor pics.....hope they're cute after freezing our butts off!

New Baby Gear:  Highchairs came. Absolutely love our highchairs, the trays go in the dishwasher, they dont take up much space, and will be easy to travel with if needed. Genius! Also ordered the last pieces of artwork for the nursery walls.

What I'm looking forward to this week: Getting our maternity pictures, starting the search for baby names (yes we've waited this long!), getting our baby books, and having Christmas #1! Since we can't go home for Christmas, the next two weekends we have family in town to celebrate with us. So excited to share it with them. Also will be fun to have family here over the holidays to see all our decorations. So excited, I love the holidays! :)

Until next week :)

28 Weeks

WE DID IT! Made it to the third trimester!!!!! One of my biggest hopes for the twins was that I could make it this far without bedrest and we did it! I'm still hoping to cook them another 10 weeks so they can go straight home from the hospital without needing the NICU but we will see what happens :)

High fives to the 3rd trimester

Weeks along: 28 weeks

Trimester: THIRD!!!!

Frequency of OB appointments: Every 2 weeks

How I'm feeling: More and less of the same. Starting to get some pelvic pressure from all the weight bearing down (luckily MD says babies aren't trying to escape yet!) so needing to take it easier

Total Weight Gain:  Didn't get a weight this week

Babies are the size of: roughly 2.5 pounds each! We will get a more exact weight at our ultrasound later this week

Movement: So much! You can actually see my stomach moving sometimes, creepy but cool. This week I also was able to put Mavericks paw on my stomach and his sister kicked him! He was not so sure about that haha.
Please excuse my appearance....I was not feeling well....however this is Mav feeling the babies! Wish we had it on video

Cravings: Pie! But maybe that is the Holidays talking

Sleep: Totally normal. Needing at least 10 hours a day

Wedding ring: On

Stretch marks: Nada!!

Belly button: Innie! *But its a tight innie!! Kinda wondering when the outtie will come

Bedrest/Restrictions: Only allowed to work 4 days a week and have to take it easy on weekends

What I miss: Being able to get up easily. Having a harder time bending over and getting up off the couch. Luckily Ed is awesome at helping me up...I think he likes the arm workout from lifting me up :)

Best part of the week:  Celebrating Thanksgiving. I was a little under the weather all weekend but still had a nice holiday. Crazy to think next year there will be babies crawling around!!

New Baby Gear:  Finished getting enough bottles for the babies, got a few new outfits (thanks black friday sale at Carters!! Can you say $5 doorbusters!!), some new books, a few new toys, mirrors for the back seats so we can see our peanuts while driving, baby plates and spoons.

What I'm looking forward to this week: Our two OB appointments. We see the regular doctor Thursday and I have my glucose tolerance test to HOPEFULLY say I don't have gestational diabetes......really don't want to have to go through any more shots after the IVF....but of course I"ll do what I have to do for the munchkins! Also we will have our high risk doctor appointment which means we get to see the babies on ultrasound for at least a good hour.  Its been 5 weeks since our last ultrasound so we are SO SO excited to see them again. So fun watching them move. I'm sure as always we'll see baby boy be uncooperative for at least part of his pictures (little stinker). Fingers crossed that this appointment goes well and all their little organs are still developing well and they are both growing and gaining nicely.
I'm also really excited we have our maternity pictures coming up on the 8th! We will be taking some indoors in her studio and then IF there is snow outside we'll take some in the snow too! (No snow = no outdoor pics b/c I"m not freezing for just brown grass!) I'm so hopeful for snow this week, so far there are 4 days predicted to have a little.....hoping it happens!

Think its time to get back to Christmas movies!! Love this time of the year!!! :)

27 Weeks

Happy Thanksgiving week!!! This year I am SO thankful for the twins we have been blessed with, it was a very long road getting to this point and it was not easy. However, without everything we had to go through and the IVF we would not be expecting TWO little peanuts to turn this house upside down!  It is crazy to me to think that this is our last calm Thanksgiving....starting next year we will have two peanuts crawling around!!! We were at our doctors appointment last week and our doctor was chatting with us about how different things will be this time next year. So fun to think of!! But for now we'll just keep these turkeys baking in the oven as long as I possibly can. With how well our OB visits have been going (on their end with their growth...not on how I feel!) they are going to make it to the very end without needing the NICU....fingers crossed I"m right about this!!!

Mav is thankful there are only 3 more months left of his weekly photos :)

Weeks along: 27 weeks

Trimester: Second....but last week of second trimester!!!!!

Frequency of OB appointments: Every 2 weeks

How I'm feeling: More and less of the same. Starting to get some pelvic pressure from all the weight bearing down (luckily MD says babies aren't trying to escape yet!) so needing to take it easier

Total Weight Gain:  22 pounds.....doing a steady pound a week, just like the MD wants!

Babies are the size of: A head of cauliflower

Movement: Lots the past few days....they really get going to music. Clearly they are my children because they are LOVING the Christmas music I've been listening to in the car.....or they hate it and are beating me for listening but sorry babies mom is winning this one :) Christmas music is here for the next month!

Cravings: None

Sleep: So tired I can fall asleep about anywhere, but seem to favor the couch :) Sleeping well so far, fingers crossed this continues as long as possible

Wedding ring: On

Stretch marks: Nada!!

Belly button: Innie! *But its a tight innie!!

Bedrest/Restrictions: Have to cut back my hours at work :( Only working 4 days a week now starting in December and she said we would re-evaluate as we go in case I need to cut back more. On the days I stay home now I have to be a couch potato....I can make my lunch and use the bathroom but otherwise am to be resting. Also need to try and do this at least one of the days of the weekend. Thank goodness I have a pile of books to read and holiday movies are in full swing on the lifetime movie network! I'm hoping those will keep my sanity :) The goal is that this will keep me off full bedrest. **fingers crossed**

What I miss: Being able to put on shoes and socks easily....being able to get off the couch or out of bed easily

Best part of the week:  Went through ALL the babies clothes they've acquired (holy spoiled) and got it all organized. So fun to see their tiny little outfits again. SO SO excited to play dress up once they get here, they have the cutest clothes! Even Ed was saying how he really likes their outfits and can't wait to put them in it. Took me 5 loads of laundry to wash it all.....oh the joys I have ahead of me as our laundry amount probably triples!

New Baby Gear:  Nada.....gotta get the shower stuff sorted through and put away first before we can tackle anything else

What I'm looking forward to this week: Thanksgiving!! I will be in comfy yoga pants and will be stuffing this belly!!! Also SO excited to have 4 days off to relax, I am worn out!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!

26 Weeks

Holy cow 26 weeks already....all baby showers done...still not on bedrest...this pregnancy is going just as I've planned....so far! If I can just organize all our baby gear we can literally sit back and let these babies cook until they're ready to come out! I'm also happy to report this week I've had 3 people tell me they can't tell I'm pregnant from behind....yay for me! I always thought it'd be fun to be the pregnant lady you can't tell from behind then you turn and "BAM" belly! As you can see from the pics....I am definately getting the belly!!

Weeks along: 26 weeks

Trimester: Second

Frequency of OB appointments: Every 2 weeks

How I'm feeling: Mainly just exhausted this week and periods of dizziness. Only seem to get sciatica this week when I sit on the floor with Mav for a long period of time, but he loves it so I'll suck that up

Total Weight Gain:  Not sure, will get a weight at this weeks MD appt

Babies are the size of: A head of lettuce (which evidently I can not draw well based on this weeks board)

Movement: Getting more active by the day

Cravings: None

Sleep: So tired I can fall asleep about anywhere, but seem to favor the couch :) Sleeping well so far, fingers crossed this continues as long as possible

Wedding ring: On

Stretch marks: Nada!!

Belly button: Innie! *But its a tight innie!!

Bedrest/Restrictions: No bed-rest yet!

What I miss: Wine would have been fun to have with all my friends last weekend at the shower!!

Best part of the week:  Celebrating the twins with two wonderful baby showers. One from work and one with my Minnesota friends and some of our family that made the trek up

New Baby Gear:  Geesh where to start!! Pack n Play, 2 bouncers, 2 jumpers/exersaucers, 2 boppys plus covers, bags and bags of clothes, bottles, bottle warmers, cute toys, fun books, diapers, bath tub, bath toys, organization for the bathroom, play mat, car seat covers, diaper changing stations, headbands, cute shoes and socks, adorable baby hats, blankets galore. I'm sure I"m forgetting stuff but we seriously got so much its hard to think straight!! We are so lucky to have so many wonderful people in our lives who love the twins so much already. They will be two lucky babies once they arrive :) Now mommy and daddy have tons to do and put together and organize to be ready!!

What I'm looking forward to this week:That we don't have anything going on!! I am seriously so exhausted and beyond excited for a weekend of doing nothing....well except for starting to put out Christmas decorations and hopefully washing and organizing all of the baby clothes and blankets so the nursery will be essentially complete. I"m hoping Ed and I can even squeeze in a movie!! Gotta enjoy while we can :)

25 Weeks

Only a few more weeks till the 3rd trimester!! Less then 3 months until they arrive (assuming they make it to the 38  weeks that they have to come out by). Really making a lot of progress getting ready for babies. Poor Mav is just not sure of any of this change. I have started bribing him in the nursery, he was going in and just laying there pouting and looking sad. We've started bringing his toys in there and sitting with him or feeding him a peanut butter kong in there. Hopefully he'll start to come around :)

He says "Oh crap that is getting close"

Weeks along: 25 weeks down....13 more to go, at the most!!

Trimester: Second

Frequency of OB appointments: Every 2 weeks

How I'm feeling: More or less of the same....tired, nausea, headaches, sciatica, back pain, dizzy. Luckily I do have periods I feel good between all of this!

Total Weight Gain:  20ish pounds

Babies are the size of: An eggplant

Movement: I have some crazy kickers in my belly right now. And they love to be active at really convenient times like when I'm working :)

Cravings: Panera Broccoli and cheese soup

Sleep: So so this week, a few nights where it was hard to get comfortable but then the next night I was fine

Wedding ring: On

Stretch marks: Nada!!

Belly button: Innie!

Bedrest/Restrictions: No bed-rest yet!

What I miss: People having manners. I'm sorry but it is not okay to just reach out and touch someones stomach. In addition its not ok to say "you look so big for 25 weeks". I know I'm big but I don't need to hear and and news flash, I'm not going to look 25 weeks when I have two healthy babies growing inside me that are EACH the size of a normal singleton baby. Ok rant over...for this week :)

Best part of the week:  Nothing special this week :)

New Baby Gear:  Got bumbo chairs, a playmat, Sophie the giraffes, a boppy, some jeans for each baby (thanks Carters for the awesome sale this weekend!). Also got our video monitor

What I'm looking forward to this week:Baby showers!! Work is throwing me one on Wednesday after work and then my awesome sister in law and a good friend are co-throwing my other shower on Saturday.
